June 22, 1923 -- January 30, 2013

Wilma S. Wingard, 89, of Shipshewana, died at 12:50 pm, on Wednesday, January 30,
at her residence. She was born on June 22, 1923, in Haven, KS, to Samuel T. and Mary
(Borntrager) Schrock. On December 23, 1943 in LaGrange County she married Perry J.
Wingard; he died September 30, 1972. Surviving are six daughters, Mary Ellen (David
P.) Yoder of Goshen, Esther L.  (Earl R.) Miller of Middlebury, Alice (Daniel J.) Bontrager
of Goshen, Linda (Freeman O.) Miller, Velda F. (Harry Jr.) Stutzman and Ruth Ann
(Melvin J.) Miller all of Shipshewana; three sons, Melvin (Brenda) Wingard of Elkhart,
Elmer L. (Leanna) Wingard and Perry Jr. (Fannie) Wingard both of Goshen; 52
grandchildren, 155 great grandchildren, two step grandchildren, two great- great
grandchildren; three sisters, Katie Eash and Emma Mullet both of Goshen, Mae Miller
of Middlebury; a brother, Eli Schrock of Bradenton, FL. She was preceded in death by
her parents, one granddaughter, three great grandchildren, four brothers, Sam, Felty,
Ed and Levi Schrock, three sisters, Clara Schrock, Anna Miller and Sarah Neolle. She
was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Visitation will be after
1:00 pm on Thursday January 31, and all day Friday February 1, at the Jerry
Hochstetler residence, 9615 W. 375 N., Shipshewana. Funeral services will be at 9:30
am on Saturday February 2, also at the Jerry Hochstetler residence. Services will be
conducted by Bishop Sam Lambright and the home ministers. Burial will be in Naylor
Cemetery, Shipshewana.
