Wilber O. Mishler
October 10, 1924 -- January 11, 2017
Wilber O. Mishler, 92, of Shipshewana, died at 5:25 pm on Wednesday,
January 11, at Millers Merry Manor in LaGrange, after a brief illness. He was
born on October 10, 1924 in LaGrange, to George and Celestia (Miller)
Mishler. On June 21, 1975 in LaGrange he married Ellen Schrock; she
survives. Survivors in addition to his wife are two daughters, Dena Marie
(Bob) Roush of Shipshewana, Denise (Glen) Nation of Estacada, OR; son,
Douglas (Phyllis) Mishler of Topeka; four step sons, James Eugene Miller
and Byron Dee (Kay) Miller both of Shipshewana, Myron Lee (Pam) Miller of
White Pigeon, MI, Gary Lyn (Lisa) Miller of Warsaw; eight grandchildren, 15
great grandchildren, five step grandchildren, two step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Debra Kvernvik, sister,
Marie Bontrager, brother, Glen Mishler, one great grandson and a
granddaughter-in-law. Wilber drove school bus for Westview Schools for 27
years and also ran a daily hog market for P.B. Stewart in Topeka. He was
an avid golfer, and enjoyed the Cubs baseball, the Bears football, I.U.
basketball and bowling. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 5:00 pm on Sunday
January 15, at Shore Mennonite Church, 7235 W 100 N Shipshewana.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Monday, January 16, also at the
church. Services will be conducted by Pastor Carl Horner. Burial will be in
Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana, IN. Memorials may be given to Rainbow
Years Learning Center.

My condolences to the Mishler family. Wilbur was such a gentle man and
was definitely a sports fan. I remember the occasions he would bring his TV
to our house, before we had one, so we could watch Indiana High School
Basketball tournaments and the Ed Sullivan show.
