Tony L. McIntire
                               April 14, 1948 -- October 3, 2016

Tony L. McIntire, 68, of Middlebury, died at 8:45 pm on Monday,
October 3, at IU Health Goshen Hospital after a valiant seven year
battle with cancer. He was born on April 14, 1948 in Kendallville, to
Dale and Beverly (Searle) McIntire. On January 23, 1971 in Elkhart
he married Marla Kile; she survives. Survivors in addition to his
wife are a daughter, Stacy (Tony Frieden) Quarandillo of Elkhart; a
son, Kim (Carey) McIntire of Middlebury; grandchildren, Tyler,
Nicholas, Christopher, Dane, Breanna, and Brett; sister, Pamela
(Frank) Lehker of Elkhart; brother, Brad (Pam) McIntire of Elkhart; a
lifelong friend Glen (Patti) Eash of Goshen. Tony was preceded in
death by his parents and a brother, Mark McIntire. Tony grew up in
the LaGrange County area graduating from Shipshewana High
School in 1967 and was in the first graduating class of Glen Oaks
Community College. He lived in Elkhart County most of his married
life. He served in the Indiana National Guard from 1969 – 1975. He
worked as an extruder operator at Abitibi in Middlebury, which later
became Louisiana Pacific, from 1979 - 2011. Tony was a carpenter
and a jokester with a great sense of humor. He was a Cubs fan and
enjoyed cars, flying remote control airplanes, fishing and was a
staunch Republican and enjoyed talking about politics. He loved
his God, country, family and friends. He loved his Bible and
attended Crossroads Community Church, Goshen. A memorial
service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 8, with visitation for
one hour prior, at Cross Roads Community Church, Goshen.
Services will be conducted by Pastor Tim Fisher. Burial will be at a
later date in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.  Memorials may be
given to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Crossroads
Community Church.
