April 21, 1923 -- October 12, 2016
Susan Eash, 93, of Middlebury, died at 11:50 am on Wednesday, October 12,
at Courtyard of Goshen. She was born on April 21, 1923, in Arthur, IL, to
Edward and Annie (Gingerich) Yoder. On September 24, 1950 in Arthur, IL she
married Linus E. Eash; he died March 14, 2002. Surviving are her children,
Carolyn (Howard) Miller of Fishersville VA, Alta (John) Shrock of Sugarcreek,
OH, Dave (Beverly) Eash of Middlebury and Linda (Austin) Miller of
Hutchinson, KS; a sister, Martha Kauffman of Goshen; 13 grandchildren,
Hannah (Joey Staub) Miller, Josh Miller, Alex Shrock, Jensen Shrock, Ashley
Shrock, Julian Shrock, Emily (Cory) Bender, Ryan (Kelcy) Eash, Katlyn
Eash, Kandace Miller, Derek Miller, Cameron Miller, Elliot Miller. She was
preceded in death by her parents; husband; a stillborn son, Vernon Dale
Eash; six sisters, Alta Yoder, Erma Yoder, Fannie Stutzman, Katie Showalter,
Cora Schrock, and Mary Kauffman; two brothers, Omer and Chris Yoder.
Susan was a homemaker and member of Griner Mennonite Church, where
she had been active in the sewing circle and other church activities. She
enjoyed writing poems and spending time with her family, especially her
grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Saturday, October
15, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 16, at Griner
Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Pastor Robert
Riegsecker. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be
given to Rosedale Mennonite Mission.
