Shirley A. Nisley
                            June 19, 1931 -- November 5, 2018

Shirley A. Nisley, 87, formerly of LaGrange County, died peacefully
surrounded by family at 11:25 am on Monday, November 5, at
Orchard Pointe Health Campus, Kendallville. She was born on June
19, 1931 in Eureka, IL, to Frank and Ruth (Mishler) Ropp. She lived
there for four years before moving to LaGrange County. On
September 25, 1949 in LaGrange County she married Vernon Nisley;
he survives. Survivors in addition to her husband are three
daughters, Fern (Ralph) Miller of LaGrange, Karen Givens of  
Andover, NY, Marilyn (Phil) Frye of Goshen; seven grandchildren, 11
great-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren, four step
great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bill (Carol) Ropp of
Atlanta, GA, Bob (Janice) Ropp of Phoenix, AZ, Carl (Barb) Ropp of
Sun City, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents and
son-in-law, Larry Givens. Shirley faithfully attended LaGrange
Missionary Church. She taught ladies Bible class for 40 years. She
loved children and taught children at Maple Grove Church during
their bus ministry. She also taught Summer Bible School. She was a
caregiver for both her and Vernon's parents. Shirley was a
homemaker and helped run the family farm, where she was often the
tractor driver. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 6:00 pm on Thursday,
November 8 at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street,
Middlebury. The family will hold a private burial service prior to the
11:00 am memorial service on Friday, November 9, also at the funeral
home. Services will be conducted by Pastor Brent Danielson. Burial
will be in Forest Grove Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorials may be
given to LaGrange Missionary Church or Heartland Hospice.

Vern & Family, Larry and I are very sorry to hear of the passing of our
neighbor Shirley. She was a wonderful lady! She had a servants
heart and was the sweetest around. She is in heaven now where
there is no pain or sorrow, And someday we will all meet again in that
beautiful land. We are lifting you and your family up in our prayers.
