Samuel F. Yoder
Samuel F. Yoder, 68, of Shipshewana, died at 12:20 pm on Friday, June 22, at
Waterford Crossing Health Center, Goshen, where he had stayed for two
weeks. He was born on April 15, 1950  in Topeka to Freeman M. and Mary
Alice (Miller) Yoder. On November 27, 1969 in LaGrange he married Esther J.
Yoder, she survives. Survivors in addition to his wife are seven sons, David
(Suellen) Yoder of Shipshewana, DeVon (Susan) Yoder of Shipshewana,
Norman (Esther) Yoder of Goshen, Paul (Kathryn) Yoder of Shipshewana,
Marcus (Lavonda) Yoder of Middlebury, Allen (Rachel) Yoder of
Shipshewana, Sam Yoder, Jr. at home; three daughters, Magdalena (Ora)
Bontrager of LaGrange, Ruthetta Yoder at home, Loranna (Steve) Miller of
Marcellus, MI; 51 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother in
Shipshewana; four brothers, David (Kathy) Yoder of Plains, MT, Perry (Eva)
Yoder of Shipshewana, Joas (Lillian) Yoder of Middlebury, John Yoder of New
Paris; six sisters, Carolyn (Melvin) Bontrager of Shipshewana, Wilma
(Freeman) Troyer of Fulton, MO, Rachel (Amos) Yoder of Lagrange, Leanna
(Sam) Miller of Ethel, MO, Esther (Joe) Yoder of Marion, MI, Lovina (Dan)
Byler of Moore, MT. He was preceded in death by his father; a granddaughter
and a sister-in-law, Etta Fern Yoder. Samuel was a farmer and also the
co-owner of the Hilltop Machine Shop. He was a member of the Old Order
Amish Church. Visitation will after 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 23, and all day
Sunday, June 24, at the family's residence, 10635 W. US 20 Shipshewana.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Monday, June 25, also at the family's
residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Wilbur Miller and the home
ministers. Burial will be in Forks Cemetery, Middlebury. Miller-Stewart
Funeral Home, Middlebury is in charge of arrangements.
