January 23, 1920 -- June 4, 2016

Rosalind Gannon Hoover, 96, passed on Saturday June 4, 2016. She was
born on January 23, 1920 in Middlebury, to parents Robert and Ethel
Gannon.  She graduated from Middlebury High school in 1937, Fort Wayne
Business College and Ball State University. She worked very hard to pay
for her schooling but also enjoyed belonging to Psi Theta sorority and
other societies at Ball State University. On August 1, 1942 she married her
Middlebury sweetheart, Air Force Lieut. Charles W Hoover. Rosalind taught
at Middlebury High School until highly decorated Martin Marauder B26 pilot
Capt. Charles Hoover returned safely home. Rosalind and Charles lived
many places during their 47 years of marriage. They had a long and
wonderful journey together.  Along the way they had two daughters Cheryl
and Judith. Rosalind also worked many years in the South Bend School
System as a Librarian. She,as expected, had a great love of reading but
also enjoyed needlework, camping, fishing, traveling and being with her
family. She was a wonderful Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother,
Great-Grandmother and Friend to many. She is fondly remembered for her
quick wit, wink and a smile. Rosalind is predeceased by parents Robert and
Ethel Gannon, sister Mary Ethel Gannon, brother Robert D. Gannon Jr.,
husband Charles W. Hoover, and grandson Christopher K. Cook. She is
survived by daughters Cheryl Cook (Kelly) of Stuart Fl., Judy Shaw(Bill) of
Indianapolis IN., five grandchildren: Charles Cook of Nashville Tn., James
(JP) Cook(Erica) of St. Petersburg Fl., Stacy Mc Mullen(Scott)of Columbus
In., Stephanie Shaw of Indianapolis, In., and Rob Shaw (Kelly) of
Indianapolis In. and five great grandchildren. A memorial service will be at
11:30 am on Saturday July 15, at First United Methodist Church,
Middlebury.  Services will be conducted by Pastor Ron Russell. Burial will
be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorial contributions may be
made to Treasure Coast Hospice 1201 SE Indian St. Stuart. Fl .34997, the
Humane Society of the Treasure Coast 4100 SW Leighton Farm Ave. Palm
City, Fl. 34990  or a charity of your choice.
