Roman (Bob) Miller of Traverse City, Michigan went to his heavenly reward
on Saturday, June 15, 2014 in Sarasota, Florida. Bob was 99 years, 11
months, and 13 days old. He was born on July 2, 1914 in Mission, Texas. He
spent many winters in Florida and summers in Hicksville, Ohio, Goshen,
Indiana and Traverse City, Michigan. He was a farmer/carpenter/trailer factory
worker in Ohio and Indiana. He was known as the "bicycle man" of Traverse
City where his hobby was repairing and selling many bikes.
Bob's wife Verna (Zehr) Miller, brothers Henry J. Miller, Freeman R. Miller, and
Leander R. Miller, and an infant brother and sister preceded him in death. He
has one daughter Shirley A. (Glenn) Schrock of Traverse City, Michigan, and
two sons, Marvin L. (Mary Ellen) Miller and David R. (Ruth) Miller, both of
Surviving are 9 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 16 great, great
grandchildren. Bob will be missed but we know he will be celebrating his
100th birthday in heaven.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, June 19, 2014 in Traverse City,
Visitation will take place at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury from 1:00
- 2:30 pm on Saturday June 21 followed by a 3:00 pm graveside service at
Thomas Cemetery, Goshen.
