Phyllis Jeannie Bowers
                                April 25, 1923 -- January 30, 2021

Phyllis Jeannie Bowers, 97, of Middlebury, passed away at 7:00 pm
on Saturday, January 30, at her daughter’s home, Marcia Peters in
Middlebury. She was born on April 25, 1923 in Goshen to Raymond
and Edith (Porter) Garman. On April 28, 1946 in St. Paul's Lutheran
Church, Middlebury she married Christopher C. Bowers, he passed
away October 25, 1996. Surviving are two daughters, Marcia Peters
and Christine (Olen) Miller; son, Dan (Brenda) Bowers all of
Middlebury; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step
grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren and two step great-
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents;
husband, a son-in-law, Ken Peters, and a grandson, Steven Peters.
Phyllis had worked for 21 years as the bookkeeper for Max Myers
Motors, Middlebury before retiring in 1986. She enjoyed making
crafts, needlepoint and crochet work and solving sudoku and
crossword puzzles. She had been active in the American Legion
Post 210, Middlebury Fire Department Ladies Auxiliaries, Middlebury
Alumni and Middlebury Historical Museum. She enjoyed playing
cards, especially Euchre and Bridge and had been active with a
Bridge Club. Private graveside services will be held at Grace Lawn
Cemetery, Middlebury. A public memorial service will be held at 11:
00 am on Saturday, February 6, at Miller Stewart Funeral Home,
Middlebury. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the memorial
service. Services will be conducted by Pastor Daniel Repp.
Memorials may be given to Middlebury Fire Department.
