Phebe Burkey, 96, of, Goshen, formerly of Middlebury, died at 10:15
am, on Thursday, October 12, at the Maples at Waterford Crossing,
where she had resided the last two years. She was born on
November 18, 1920, in Milford, NE, to Chris and Anna (Rediger)
Stauffer. On July 11, 1943 in Milford, NE she married Warren Burkey;
he died January 1, 1998. Surviving are two daughters, Jolene (Lester)
Yoder and Reva (Lamar) Schrock both of Middlebury; eight
grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
her husband, parents, sister, Kathryn Stauffer, four brothers, Harry,
Sterling, Ezra and Edward Stauffer. Phebe was a homemaker and a
member of Griner Mennonite Church. She enjoyed embroidering,
reading and loved her family. She had the gift of caring and listening
to people and taught Sunday school for many years. Visitation will be
from 2:00 - 8:00 pm on Saturday October 14, at Griner Mennonite
Church, Middlebury. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the
2:00 pm funeral service on Sunday October 15, also at the church.
Services will be conducted by Pastors Robert Riegsecker, DeWayne
Yoder and Jim Eigsti. Burial will be in Griner Cemetery, Middlebury.
Memorials may be given to Gospel Echoes.

Reva, I am so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. During this
difficult time, try to remember she is whole in mind and body once
again and that you will see her again one day. I know it's easier said
