February 21, 1926 -- October 24, 2018

Paul J. Miller, 92, of Shipshewana, passed away peacefully at 9:05 am on
Wednesday, October 24 at his residence. He was born on February 21, 1926
in LaGrange County to Percy J. and Artie (Yoder) Miller. On November 9, 1946
in LaGrange County he married Nellie Ruth Lambright; she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are daughter, Gwendolyn (Gene) Miller
Newcomer of Shipshewana; five sons, Gordon (Nancy) Miller of Spindale,
NC, Gary (Patricia) Miller of Shipshewana, Gerald (Amy) Miller of Middlebury,
Glen (Sheri) Miller of Shipshewana, Gene (Jenny) Miller of Goshen; 11
grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby (John) Eberly of
Blunstown, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Anna Grace
Hooley; grandson, Grant Newcomer. Paul volunteered at Shore Church with
many different responsibilities, Shipshewana Fire Department, Menno-Hof,
Shipshewana Town Board, and LaGrange County 4-H Fair. He was owner of
Wana Hardware for many years, which started on Main Street and then
moved into the shopping center where it is currently located. He also started
and operated Wana Feed. The past number of years Paul enjoyed working
around home keeping the pastures mowed and feeding the donkeys and fish
in the pond. He always enjoyed when his family came to visit with him.
Visitation will be from 3:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday, October 26, at Shore Church,
7235 W. 100 N. Shipshewana. Family and friends will gather at 10:00 am on
Saturday, October 27, at the church to proceed to the cemetery for a 10:30  
am graveside service at Shore Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at
11:00 am at the church. Services will be conducted by Pastor Carl Horner.
Memorials may be given to the church or Center for Hospice Care.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Paul and Ruth were some of the first
people we met when we moved to Shipshewana. We boarded our horse there
for a few years! What a nice man and we were blessed to know him.
