Orpha S. Troyer, 86, of Goshen, formerly of Middlebury died at 2:45 pm, on Tuesday,
July 29,  at her residence. She was born on January 16, 1928 in Elkhart County to
Samuel and Lizzie (Yoder) Thomas. On August 17, 1947 in Elkhart County she married
Lester C. Troyer, he died February 23, 2002. Surviving are daughter, Gloria (Morris)
Yoder of Hutchinson, KS; two sons, LaMar (Dorothy) Troyer of Stone Lake, WI. and
Marvin (Margaret) Troyer of Goshen; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; sister,
Edna Thomas of Goshen; two brothers, Vernon (Dorothy) Thomas of Middlebury and
Orval Thomas of Grabill. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband;
daughter, Verda Troyer; a granddaughter, Denise Yoder; three brothers, Henry, Ralph
and Melvin Thomas; three sisters, Diana Mast, Ella Thomas and Irene Yoder. She was a
homemaker and enjoyed quilting hundreds of quilts for others from 1997 - 2003. She
was a member of the Mount Joy Mennonite Church where she was active in the sewing
circle and also volunteered quilting at The Depot. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00
and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday, August 1, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South
Main Street Middlebury. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 2, at
Mount Joy Mennonite Church, Goshen.  Services will be conducted by Ben Shirk, of
the church and her sons LaMar and Marvin Troyer. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery,
Goshen. Memorials may be given to World Missionary Press.

Orpha always had a twinkle in her eye whenever we met, whether we were at a family
gathering or grocery shopping at Fork's. It meant a lot to me when Lester & Orpha
came to visit us after Rose was born in 2000, especially because of how difficult it was
for Lester to walk.
