November 29, 1932 -- November 23, 2018

Omer R. Bontreger, 85, of Shipshewana, died at 2:20 pm on Friday,
November 23, at his residence. He was born on November 29, 1932 in
Kosciusko County, to Mose and Millie (Yoder) Bontreger.  On October
10, 1954 in Goshen he married Mary Alice Miller; she survives.  
Survivors in addition to his wife are daughter, Rosie (Greg) White of
Asheville, NC; son, Dean (Lynnette) Bontreger of Carmel; five
grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kate Metzger of
Albuquerque, NM, Rosetta Miller of Sarasota, FL; three brothers, Gene
Bontreger of LaGrange, Edwin (Ruth Ann) Bontreger of Rensselaer, Ken
(Jan) Bontreger of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his parents;
great-grandson, Bentley Bontreger; brother, Mose Bontreger, Jr. He
was part owner of Mishler Packing for 35 years, worked in sales for 5
years, and was a retired truck driver. He was a member of New Life
Fellowship. He was dedicated in taking care of the lawn at both his
home and church. He also enjoyed going to Westview boy’s basketball
games. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 pm on Monday, November 26
at New Life Fellowship, 2755 SR 5, Topeka. Family and friends will
gather at 9:00 am on Tuesday, November 27 at Clinton Union Cemetery,
Goshen for a graveside service. A Celebration of Life Service will follow
at 10:30 am at New Life Fellowship. Services will be conducted by
Pastor Russ Hunsberger and Pastor Drew Ryall. Memorials may be
given to New Life Fellowship’s Mission Fund.
