Michiko "Mitze" Ono Pickett
Michiko "Mitze" Ono Pickett, 84, of Bristol, died peacefully in her sleep at
4:30 pm on Saturday, January 13, at her daughter’s home where she
had resided for the past year and a half. She had been in declining
health the last five months. She was born on July 10, 1933, in Tokyo,
Japan, to Toki and Seijin Ono. She married Fremont "Monte" Pickett in
Bedford to whom she was married for over 40 years. Surviving are
daughter, June Wild of Bristol; son, Jeff (Dori) Pickett of Royal Oak, MI;
granddaughter, Valerie Seegers of San Francisco, CA; grandson,
Alexander Seegers of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters, Yukiko and Yuriko
both of Tokyo; brother, Hiroshi (Noriko) Ono of Tokyo. She was
preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister, Emiko. She
was a legal secretary, flower shop owner, Indiana Democratic Delegate,
and a translator for Honda Motors. She was a member of Shoals United
Methodist Church and IU Alumni. Family and friends may gather at  1 pm
followed by a memorial service at 2 pm on Saturday January 20 at the
family residence 19710 Amberwood Drive, Bristol.
