May 31, 1927 -- September 16, 2016

Mary Mast, 89, of Topeka, died at 11:40 pm, on Friday, September 16 at her
residence. She had been in declining health. She was born on May 31, 1927,
in LaGrange County, to Joseph J. and Fannie (Miller) Wingard. On
November 30, 1950 she married Harry A. Mast, he died March 22, 1994.
Surviving are three daughters, Betty (Jerry Lee) Schwartz and Ida (Marvin
Lee) Bontrager both of Shipshewana, Iva (Mervin Dean) Hostetler of
Goshen; three sons, Clarence (Edna) Mast of Middlebury, Calvin (Barbara)
Mast and Jay (Sue Ann) Mast both of Topeka; 21 grandchildren, 47 great
grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence (Edna) Wingard of Shipshewana,
Elmer (Ella) Wingard of Topeka; half-sister, Ruby (Ervin) Mast of
Middlebury; six half-brothers, Joe (Betty) Wingard Jr. of Shipshewana,
Raymond (Dora) Wingard of Shipshewana, Ferman (Barbara) Wingard of
Shipshewana, Freman (Leora) Wingard of Shipshewana, John (Sara)
Wingard of Topeka, Jay (Ruth) Wingard of Shipshewana; step-sister, Mary
(Orla S.) Miller of Shipshewana; sister-in-law Esther Wingard of
Shipshewana. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents,
step-mom, Nora Wingard, grandson, Dennis Mast, great grandson, Matthew
James Mast, three sisters, Erma Wingard, Elizabeth Schlabach, and Ida
Schrock, brother, Perry Wingard, half-brother, Mahlon Wingard, step-sister,
Esther Lambright. She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order
Amish Church. Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 17
and all day Sunday, September 18 at the family residence, 9030 W 700
South, Topeka. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Monday, September
19, also at the family residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop John
Beachey and the home ministers. Burial will be in Hawpatch Cemetery,
