June 23, 1925 -- August 11, 2014
Lucja (Bartz) Pross, 89, of Bristol, died at 4:20 am on Monday, August 11, at her
residence. She was born on June 23, 1925 in Warsaw, Poland, to Robert and Helene
(David) Bartz. On January 20, 1951 in Salzgitter, Germany she married John Pross,
he survives. Survivors in addition to her husband are daughter, Angelika Pross of
Bristol; three granddaughters, Emily (fiancé, Thomas FitzGerald), Alexandra and
Allison (Jonathan) Sleight. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Witolt
Bartz and sister, Natalie Biehler. She was an accomplished seamstress, homemaker
and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed providing wonderful "old
world" meals for her family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her quick wit
even into her old age was a source of much laughter at family gatherings. Visitation
will be from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 -8:00 pm Thursday, August 14, at Miller-Stewart
Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury. There will also be visitation one
hour prior to the 10:00 am funeral service on Friday, August 15, at Prince of Peace
Lutheran Church, 18548 CR 18 Goshen. Services will be conducted by Pastor Robert
Schallhorn, Jr. Burial will be in Glen Eden Cemetery, Livonia, MI. Memorials may be
given to Trinity Lutheran Church.
