Lizzie Mae Bontrager
November 11, 1934 -- May 7, 2013
Lizzie Mae Bontrager, 78, of Shipshewana, died at 7:20 pm on Tuesday, May
7 at her daughter’s residence, after an extended illness. She was born on
November 11, 1934 in LaGrange County, to Ezra and Anna (Bontrager)
Yoder. On April 12, 2002 in Shipshewana she married LaVerne Bontrager,
he survives. Survivors in addition to her husband are a daughter, Beth Ann
(Marvin) Bontrager of Shipshewana; step daughter, Linda (Calvin) Miller of
Shipshewana; four step sons, LaVon (Dawn) Bontrager of Spring Hill, KS,
Lyle (Shari) Bontrager and Leon Bontrager both of Middlebury, Lonnie
Bontrager at home; five grandchildren, nine step grandchildren; four
sisters, Mary (Sylvanus) Miller of Nappanee, LeAnna (John) Schrock of
Goshen, Katie (Thomas) Humble of Middlebury, Ada Miller of Shipshewana;
two brothers, Perry Yoder of Middlebury, Christie (Marlene) Yoder of
Millersburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Daniel
and Elmer Yoder, a brother-in- law, Nelson Miller, sister-in-law, Katie Yoder.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Wednesday May 8, and all day Thursday,
May 9, at the Calvin Ray Miller residence, 0700 N. State Rd. 5, Shipshewana.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Friday May 10, also at the Calvin Ray
Miller residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Chris Bontrager and
home ministers. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery, Shipshewana.
