LeRoy Hostetler

                              March 18, 1926 -- December 6, 2016

LeRoy Hostetler, 90, of Middlebury, died at 4:46 pm, on Tuesday,
December 6, at Courtyard of Goshen. He was born on March 18, 1926
in LaGrange County to Sam and Mattie (Hershberger) Hostetler. On
October 19, 1946 in Elkhart County he married Carolyn Breniser, she
died August 29, 2015. Surviving are a daughter, Diane (David) Hess of
Goshen; a son, Ronald (Gail) Hostetler of Middlebury; a
daughter-in-law, Karla Hostetler of Goshen; six grandchildren; ten
great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son,
Randall Hostetler; three sisters, Irene Culp, Katie Hostetler, Mary
Leedy;  seven brothers, Jake, Sam, John, Monroe, Bill, Harley and
Dan Hostetler. LeRoy was the original owner/operator of Hostetler
Lawn and Landscaping in Middlebury, the business that he started in
1957 is now in the third generation of his family. He was an
outstanding fast-pitch softball pitcher, throwing almost 100 no-hitter
games in his career; he often spoke of the night that he threw a
no-hitter for 26 straight innings. He was inducted into the Indiana
ASA (Amateur Softball Association) in 1989. He often expressed his
love for God, family and work; he attended Faith Baptist Church,
Middlebury. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Saturday,
December 10, 2016 at the Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South
Main Street Middlebury. Funeral services will follow visitation at 11:00
am also on Saturday at the funeral home. Services will be conducted
by Pastor Donald Chesher. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery,
Middlebury. Memorials may be given to Faith Baptist Church,
