June 20, 1975 -- October 30, 2020
Lavon Ray Yoder, 45, of Goshen, died at 4:05 am on Friday, October
30 at Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart, from complications suffered in
a semi-truck accident on October 14. He was born on June 20, 1975
in Sturgis, MI, to Vernon and Carolyn (Hochstetler) Yoder. On August
25, 2001 in Dover, DE he married Freida Coblentz; she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are son, Vernon Ray Yoder at home;
two daughters, SaVana Caroline Yoder, Olivia Grace Yoder both at
home; three brothers, Eugene (Mary) Yoder of Seneca, SC, Gary
(Maria) Yoder of Myakka City, FL, Matthew (Jenae) Yoder of Sutton,
AK; four sisters, Karen (Bill) Porter of White Cloud, MI, Doris (DeVon)
Schrock of Goshen, Joyce (Philip) Carpenter of Molina, FL, Miriam
(David) Hostetler of Moravian Falls, NC; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a stillborn sister, Diane
Yoder. Lavon was a member of River of Life Fellowship. He was a
truck driver for many years, working the last three years for Walnut
Creek Foods. He loved the Lord and his family. Lavon and Freida
enjoyed being foster parents. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 7:00 pm on
Sunday, November 1 and 9:00 – 10:00 am on Monday, November 2 at
River of Life Fellowship Church, 11162 SR 120, Middlebury. Funeral
services will be at 10:00 am on Monday, November 2 also at River of
Life Fellowship Church. Services will be conducted by Pastors Rick
Lambright and Gordon Henke and Elder John Hooley. Burial will be in
Miller Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to KidsPeace- a
foster care organization.

Freida, children, and the Extended Yoder family. My deepest
