Katie Weirich, 95, of LaGrange, formerly of Sarasota, FL, died at 7:35 am on
Saturday, December 23, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital. She was born on in
Shipshewana to Daniel and Elizabeth (Kauffman) Weirich. Surviving are a
sister, Anna Chupp of Shipshewana; a brother, Ora (Kathrine) Weirich of
Goshen; 17 nieces and 15 nephews, many great nieces and nephews. She
was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Harley E., Harry, Joe
and Eli Weirich; two sisters, Ida Miller and Nona Yoder; two nieces and one
nephew. Katie worked doing house cleaning most of her life. She had lived in
Sarasota, FL for over 40 years and was a member of the Pine Craft Amish
Church. She enjoyed traveling and had visited 47 of the states in the US.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December
26, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 27, also at the
funeral home. Services will be conducted by her nephew, Pastor Joe Weirich.
Burial will be in Naylor Cemetery, Shipshewana. Online condolences may be

I am so sorry to hear of Katie's passing. Seeing Katie and her family at the Ox
Bow Park family reunion was wonderful. I am the daughter of John L. (Wilma)
