Kathy Witcher, 61, of Middlebury died at 11:37 am on Wednesday, May 9, at
St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, after a 10 month battle with cancer.
She was born on October 10, 1956, in Stevensville, Michigan, to Donald
Reed and Patricia M. (Schaub) Stanton. On September 29, 1973 she married
Terry Glenn Witcher; he died May 1, 2017. Surviving are son, Terry Glenn
Witcher, Jr. of Middlebury; two daughters, Heather (Travis) Loyer of
Middlebury, Michelle (Shawn) Smothers of Elkhart; five grandchildren;
three brothers, Greg Allen (Linda) Stanton of Wisconsin, Donald Reed
Stanton of SC, Kenneth Stanton of St. Joseph, MI. She was preceded in
death by her parents and husband. Kathy retired from Kroger's in Elkhart
after working there the past 11 years, where she managed the fuel center.
She had also owned the 7/11 gas station in Bristol for eight years. She was
a hardworking and dedicated lady who loved taking care of her family and
also enjoyed shopping. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 pm followed by
a memorial service at 1:00 pm on Monday, May 21, at Miller-Stewart Funeral
Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury.  Services will be conducted by her
brother, Pastor Greg Stanton. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery,
Middlebury. Memorials may be given to the funeral home for funeral
