Kathryn Marie Kurtz
                               February 9, 1927 ~ February 2, 2017

Kathryn Marie Kurtz, 89, of Ligonier, formerly of Middlebury, died at 1:15
pm, on Thursday, February 2, at Avalon Village Nursing Care, Ligonier.
She had been living at Avalon since 2016. The family was very thankful
she had been alert up to her last hours. The night before her passing she
told a nurse she was ready to be called home and to be with her
husband. She was born on February 9, 1927, in White Pigeon, MI, to Sam
J. and Sarah (Slaughter) Miller. On May 15, 1955 in Goshen she married
LeRoy Kurtz; he died June 18, 2016. Surviving are three daughters,
Karen (Jeff) Pletcher of Providence, VA, Karla (Gregory) Oradat of
Pierceton, Kim (Clark) Hostetler of Goshen; four grandchildren; brother,
Samuel (Ann) Miller Jr. of Union, MI. She was preceded in death by her
husband, parents, grandson, Dustin Hostetler, three sisters, Irene Yutzy,
Betty Stringfellow and LeAnna Stalter. She was a homemaker, had
worked at the Patchwork Quilt Restaurant and Hetrick Manufacturing in
Goshen. She liked to socialize and spend time with her sisters. Visitation
will be on Thursday, February 9, from 10:00 am- 12:00 pm followed by a
12:00 funeral service at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St.,
Middlebury.  Services will be conducted by Pastor Ron Russell. Burial
will be at a later date in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorials
may be given to the 4th District Homeless Veteran’s.
