Karen Kay Yoder
May 31, 1947 -- March 24, 2016
Karen Kay Yoder, 68, of Topeka, passed away from complications of
pneumonia, on Thursday, March 24 at Parkview Regional Medical Center,
Fort Wayne. She was born on May 31, 1947, in Garnett, KS, to Tobias B.
and Minnie (Beachy) Yoder. Surviving are her father, stepmother, Katie
(Swartzentruber) Yoder; two sisters, Patsy Yoder of Topeka, Linda Yoder
of Sarasota, FL; niece, Rachel Diane Yoder of Topeka; great-nephew,
Darin Lynn Yoder; great-niece, Laura Rose Yoder. She was preceded in
death by her mother, brother-in-law, Sam Yoder, and two great-nephews,
Ross DeWayne Yoder and LaVern Jay Yoder. Karen graduated from
Ligonier High School and from Parkview Methodist School of Nursing.
Additional education included a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the
University of Iowa, a Master of Science in Nursing from Emory University,
and a PhD in Nursing from the University of Michigan. She taught nursing
at Parkview Methodist School of Nursing and at Duke University and was
a research associate for many years. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm
on Monday, March 28 and 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm, on Tuesday,
March 29 with funeral services beginning at 10:00 am on Wednesday,
March 30, all at Pleasant Grove Conservative Mennonite Church, 13463
CR 38, Goshen. Services will be conducted by Bishop Randall Riegsecker
and the home ministers. Burial will be in Thomas Cemetery, Goshen.

So sorry for the loss of your daughter, sister, & friend. I met Karen in
LaGrange County, IN Genealogy Society.
She was a lovely lady, always wanting to learn more. She will be missed.
