Joan E. Kauffman Bouterse, 83, of Harned, KY, formerly of Middlebury, died
on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital,
Hardinsburg, KY. She was born on June 19, 1937, in Coldwater, MI, to
Clarence and Goldie  (Miller) Frey. On June 29, 1956, in Iowa she married
John Kauffman, he died March 30, 1987. She then married Robert Bouterse
on January 18, 1991, he died April 9, 2010. Surviving are two sons, John
(Janet) Kauffman of Bristol, Steven (Julie) Kauffman of Harned, KY; two step
sons, Joe (Helen) Bouterse of Carmel, Jim Bouterse of Warsaw; eight
grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter; sister,
Treva Swarm of Bristol. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands;
parents; son, Allen Jay Kauffman; two sisters, Elizabeth Gautche and Elsie
Chupp. Joan attended Bristol Missionary Church and loved to travel. The
family will hold private services. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery,
