Joan Lucille Cook
February 17, 1923 -- June 28, 2015
Joan Lucille Cook, 92, of Middlebury, died at 7:35 pm, on Sunday, June 28, at
Waterford Crossing, Goshen, where she had resided the past four months.
She was born on February 17, 1923, in Cincinnati, OH, to Alfred and Lucille
(Hench) Zimmerman. On June 26, 1943 in Fort Wayne she married John R.
Cook, Jr.; he died October 25, 2004. Surviving is a daughter, Carol (Tim)
Trotter of Goshen, son, Dick (Marcia) Cook of Middlebury; six grandchildren,
Tonya (Kevin) Rhodes, Sharry (Tom) Fleming, Shelley (Terry) Poindexter,
Giffen (Shannon) Trotter, Garrick Trotter, Geniese (Charles) Brown; 16 great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents,
granddaughter, Adrienne Trotter and sister, Mary Kell. She worked for
Smucker Drugs for many years but spent most of her life as a wonderful
mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had belonged to the Home
Economics club in Middlebury, a euchre card club and just enjoyed visiting
with everyone. She had a fondness for shopping and collected just about
anything. She loved life and will be missed forever by her family. Visitation
will be from 4:00 - 8:00 pm on Wednesday July 1, at Miller-Stewart Funeral
Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury. There will be one hour of visitation
prior to the 11:00 am Mass on Thursday July 2, at St. Mary of The
Annunciation Catholic Church, Bristol. Services will be conducted by Father
Robert Van Kempen. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.
Memorials may be given to IU Health Goshen Hospice and Home Care or St.
Mary of The Annunciation Catholic Church.

Carol, I was sorry to see your mother's obituary in the paper. I guess she
didn't have to be unhappy at Waterford Crossing very long. I'm sorry for your
