James R. Hodge
James R. Hodge, 68, of Middlebury, died at 4:55 pm on Wednesday,
January 2, 2013 at his residence. He was born on January 13, 1944  in
Newport, AR, to Homer A. and Margie  (Butler) Hodge. On May 10, 1986 in
Elkhart County he married LaVon  Schoonover, she survives. Survivors in
addition to his wife are three daughters, Diane Hodge of Elkhart, Joy (Jack)
Foust of Claypool, Delilah Maes of Anniston, AL; two step-daughters,
Donna Damron of Goshen, Cathy Weaver of Jones, MI; two sons, Darrell
(Lisa) Hodge of Austin, TX, Leon Hodge of Elkhart; two step-sons, John
Wheeler of Goshen, Kevin Wheeler of Middlebury; 25 grandchildren, 27
great grandchildren; brother, Homer (Vera) Hodge of Goshen. He was
preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Beatrice Rogers. Jim was a truck
driver and has worked as a welder for Starcraft. He did Amish taxi work and
retired as a forklift operator for Coachman Industries, Middlebury. He was a
member of the Eagle and DAV both in Goshen and the American Legion of
Middlebury. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday January
6, 2013 at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Monday January 7, 2013 also at the
funeral home. Services will be conducted by Rev. Daniel Bontrager. Burial
will be in New Pennsylvania Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorials may be
given to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
