the best bus driver ever, the words of advice he gave were priceless. He made a

          September 28, 1942 -- October 25, 2015

James M. Hansen, 73, of Middlebury, passed away peacefully
with his wife by his side at 8:40 pm on Sunday, October 25, at
Courtyard of Goshen. He was born on September 28, 1942 in
Lapeer, MI. He was the son of Chester and Ida (Canel) Hansen.
On April 11, 1964 in Edwardsburg, MI he married Karen
Christner; she survives. Survivors in addition to his wife are
two daughters, Tammie (Tony) Brown and Francine Hansen
both of Middlebury; a son, James E. (Renee) Hansen of
Middlebury; eight grandchildren, Kari, Shane, Tiffany Jimmy
(Kym), Justine, Jourdan, Austin and Mitchell; six great
grandchildren, Brett, Michael, Annabelle, Isabelle, Hunter and
Addie. He was preceded in death by his parents. He had
worked as a Quality Control inspector for Patriot Homes,
working both in Elkhart and Middlebury. He enjoyed fishing
and hunting, especially with his bird dogs. Visitation will be for
one hour prior to the 6:00 pm memorial service on Friday
October 30, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main
Street Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Pastor Chris
Garner. Burial will be at a later date in Ivan’s Cemetery,
Middlebury. In lieu of flowers memorials,  may be given to
Heart to Heart Hospice.
