James A. Heathman
James Arthur Heathman, 86, of Middlebury, formerly of Waterford, MI, died
at 9:25 pm on Thursday at Goshen Health Hospital. He was born on
September 4, 1931 in Harrisburg, Ill, to Carl and Freda (Deaton) Heathman.
On May 7, 1961 in Birmingham, MI he married Nancy Pollock, she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are a son, Steven Heathman of Waterford,
MI; a daughter, Cindy (Phil) Houser of Middlebury; five grandchildren,
Lauren (Daniel) Haffner, Alexander Houser, Jordan Houser, Patrick
Heathman, Delaney Heathman; two great grandchildren, Emma and Claire
Haffner. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward
Heathman. James had worked 30 years for GMC in security; he was the
owner/operator of J & D Auto Sales and also had worked for Jim Douglas
Auto Sales, both of Pontiac, MI. He belonged to The Toy Makers of
Greencroft, Middlebury and attended First United Methodist Church of
Middlebury.  He enjoyed golfing, bowling and loved cars. He especially
loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be from
10:00 am - 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 20, at First United Methodist
Church,  Middlebury. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 pm on
Saturday  also at the church. Services will be conducted by Pastor Ron
Russell. Memorials contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to The
Toy Makers of Greencroft, Middlebury.
