Irene Miller, 67, of Shipshewana, died at 4:05 pm on Friday, February 14, at her
residence. She was born on March 25, 1946 in LaGrange County, to Emanuel and
Abagail (Raber) Bontrager. On April 21, 1966 in Topeka she married Melvin W. Miller, he
survives. Survivors in addition to her husband are five daughters, Katherine (LeRoy)
Miller of Shipshewana, Linda (Harley) Beechy of Middlebury, Erma (Merlin) Eash of Flat
Rock, IL, LeEtta (Richard) Mishler of Lagrange, Martha (Lynn) Miller of Goshen; two
sons, Lonnie (Vonda) Miller of Shipshewana, Mark (Megan) Miller of Albion; 21
grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; four sisters, Anna Marie (Edward) Hochstetler of
Shipshewana, Katie Mae (Calvin) Miller of Topeka, Esther (Orla) Miller of Topeka, Mary
Alice Bontrager of Millersburg, OH; two brothers, Levi E.A. (Clara) Bontrager of
Goshen, Henry (Etta Fern) Bontrager of Topeka. She was preceded in death by her
parents. She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 1:00 pm on Sunday February 16, and all day Monday, February
17, at the LaVern Beechy residence, 5580 W. 200 N. Shipshewana. Funeral services
will be at 9:30 am on Tuesday February 18, also at the LaVern Beechy residence.
Services will be conducted by Bishop Menno Petersheim and the home ministers.
Burial will be in East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana.
