Irene Jones
Irene Jones, 82, of Middlebury, died at 1:30 pm, on Thursday at her  
residence. She had been in declining health since February. She was born on
December 25, 1935 in Elkhart County to Emanuel and Lydian (Slabaugh)
Miller. On May 26, 1956 in Middlebury she married David J. Jones, he died
November 21, 2008. Surviving are daughter, Dawn Jones of Houston, TX;
son, Ron (Barb) Jones of Middlebury; three grandsons, Ross Jones, Andrew
(Brianna) Jones and Spencer Jones; sister, Catherine (Omar) Lantz of
Goshen. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Wilma
Graber; two brothers, Eddie Miller and Raymond Miller. Irene was
self-employed at Irene's Beauty Shop for over 35 years and was a member of
the First United Methodist Church. She loved to play games, especially with
her grandsons and enjoyed working in her flower garden. She attended
almost all of her grandsons sporting events, and was often called their
biggest fan. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was known as a grandma
to many. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at
Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury. Funeral
services will be at 10:00 am on Monday, July 2, at First United Methodist
Church, Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Pastor Ron Russell.
Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorials may be given
to Middlebury Food Pantry.  Online condolences may be offered at

Thoughts and prayers are with all of you,what memories I have when my
mom Joyce Nelson and Irene would get together and us kids got to hang out.
She was a great lady and will be missed by a lot of friends. Please keep the

Thirty years of knowing Mrs. Jones and having her as a friend and adopted
