Ida Herschberger, 98, of Goshen, died at 1:30 pm on Sunday, May 20, 2018
at her residence. She was born on October 28, 1919 in Middlebury to John I.
and Barbara (Miller) Bontrager. On October 1, 1940 she married Jonas A.
Herschberger, he died March 19, 1986. Surviving are two sons, Ervin (Betty)
Herschberger of Goshen and Glenn (Sharon) Herschberger of Auburn;
three daughters, Joyce Bell of Shipshewana, Gloria (Kevin) Mast of Topeka
and Sharon Herschberger of Shipshewana; nine grandchildren, 18
great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lydia Mae
Kauffman of Goshen. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband;
a infant son Omer Ray Herschberger; six brothers, Levi "Lee" J., Perry,
Harley, Harry, Melvin and Mahlon Bontrager, five sisters, Katie Chupp,
Laura Nissley, Anna Miller, Rosa Miller and Edna Coblentz. Ida was a
homemaker and member of the First Mennonite Church, Middlebury where
she had been active in the sewing circle. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00
pm on Wednesday, May 23, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South
Main Street Middlebury. Family and friends will gather at Grace Lawn
Cemetery, Middlebury for a graveside service at 9:00 am on Thursday May
24, 2018. Services will be conducted by Pastor Sam Troyer. Memorials may
be given to First Mennonite Church.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Herschberger. She was a very nice
lady, always serving us pie and ice cream. Mr and Mrs Herschberger were
wonderful people and raised a nice family. Rest in peace.
