Herb Borkholder
                             August 27, 1958 -- October 18, 2013

Herb Borkholder, 55, of Shipshewana, died at 1:00 am on Friday,
October 18, at his residence after a two year battle with cancer. He
was born on August 27, 1958 in Douglas County, IL, to Roman and
Bertha (Miller) Borkholder.  On May 15, 1980 in Shipshewana he
married LaVera Yoder, she survives. Survivors in addition to his
wife are four daughters, Jeana Borkholder of Columbus, OH, Judi
(Norm) Bontreger of Goshen, Cheri Borkholder (special friend
Anthony Faucett), Cara Borkholder both of Shipshewana; a son,
James (Viviane) Borkholder of Middlebury; five grandchildren,
Carson, Kelsi, Jakoby and Jaxon Bontreger and Augustine
Borkholder; two sisters, Ruby Borkholder and Judy (Howard)
Diener both of Arthur, IL; three brothers, Mervin (Wilma) Borkholder
of Bloomington, IL, John (Susan) Borkholder of Nappanee, Lynn
Borkholder of Arcola, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Herb was a very social person and loved serving and spending time
with God, family, and friends. He was a very active member and
elder of the Marion Mennonite Church. He enjoyed sports and was
known for his ability to quote verses from the Bible often being
called a “Walking Bible”. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 5:00 and 6:00
-8:00 pm Sunday, October 20, at Maple City Chapel, 2015
Lincolnway East Goshen. Family and friends will gather at 9:00 am
on Monday at Clinton Union Cemetery, Goshen for a graveside
service prior to the 10:30 am celebration of life service at Maple City
Chapel. Services will be conducted by Pastor’s Ron and Char Roth.
Memorials may be given to the building fund for Marion Mennonite
