September 3, 1928 -- July 12, 2015
Harold D. Caton, 86, of Middlebury, died at 10:20 am on Sunday, July 12, at his
residence. He had been ill since suffering a stroke in early May. He was born on
September 3, 1928 in Middlebury, to Lester and Lola (Dunlap) Caton. On June 10,
1967 in Middlebury he married Mary Keiling, she survives. Survivors in addition
to his wife are five daughters, Robin (Brian) Messick of Middlebury, Joy (Mike)
Caton of Phoenix, AZ, Julie (Randy) Castetter of Elkhart, Jackie (John III) Kuspa
of Granger, Bobbi (Alan) Caton of Chicago, IL; eight grandchildren, ten great
grandchildren; two sisters, Maxine Coddens of Elkhart and Linda (Chuck)
Hardies of Bristol. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert
Caton, and sister, Fontaine Strycker. He was a member of Pathway Assembly of
God in Middlebury. He was a trainer, breeder, and raced standard bred horses.
He also hunted, bred, and trained pointer bird dogs and was a fan of Notre Dame
basketball and football. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 14
at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury and for one
hour prior to the 11:00 am funeral services on Wednesday, July 15 at Pathway
Assembly of God, Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Rev. Jason Brooks.
Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to
Pathway Assembly of God for mission projects.
