September 28, 1930 -- October 29, 2018
Fanny F. Weirich, 88, of Middlebury, died at 1:53 pm, on Monday, October 29 at Vibra
Hospital, Crown Point, after battling health issues for a month. She was born on
September 28, 1930, in Hutchinson, KS, to Harry M. and Barbara (Miller) Troyer. On May
10, 1952 in Middlebury she married Harley E. Weirich; he died November 26, 2012.
Surviving are son, Jerry Lynn (Cammie) Weirich of Wolcottville; daughter, Lori Miller of
Goshen; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter;
three sisters, Lydia Yoder of Nappanee, Nora Elswick of Middlebury, Dora Graber of
Goshen. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four brothers, Howard,
Jerry, Samuel, and infant Moses Troyer; two sisters, Anna Mae Weaver and infant, Mary
Troyer. Fanny was a member of First Mennonite Church in Middlebury. She enjoyed
family gatherings, taking care of her flowerbeds, fishing, cross-stitching, quilting, and
birdwatching with her grandkids. She also enjoyed attending Bluegrass Festivals and
wintering in Florida with her husband for 14 years. She loved watching Notre Dame
football and the Chicago Cubs. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday,
November 2 at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury and one hour prior to the
10:00 am funeral service on Saturday, November 3 at First Mennonite Church,
Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Wes Culver. Burial will be in Grace Lawn
Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorials may be given to the Middlebury Food Pantry.
