Ezra J. Gingerich
                                    January 28, 1924 -- April 4, 2017

Ezra J. Gingerich, 93, of Shipshewana, died at 8:00 pm, on Tuesday, April 4, at
his residence. He was born on January 28, 1924, in LaGrange County, to
Jacob J. and Annie (Schrock) Gingerich. On November 7, 1946 he married
Ruby Viola Slabach; she died August 14, 1950. On February 12, 1953 he
married Mary Ellen Miller; she died July 2, 2002. Surviving are two daughters,
Norma (Perry) Lambright of Shipshewana, Marlene (Wilbur) Mast of Topeka;
two sons, Wilford Dean (Laura) Gingerich of Middlebury, Marvin (Vera)
Gingerich of Shipshewana; 18 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren; three
sisters, Emma Schrock and Elizabeth (Leroy) Miller both of Shipshewana, Ella
Schrock of Topeka; four sisters-in-law, Edna (Vernon) Schmucker and Anna
Belle (Joni) Mast both of Goshen, Orpha Miller and Louella Cross both of
Topeka; two brothers-in-law Floyd Slabach and Joe Devon Slabach. He was
preceded in death by his parents, both wives, a grandson, Aaron Lambright,
three sisters, Fannie Fry, Ida Miller and Mandy Jones, two brothers, Mose and
Ura Gingerich. Ezra was a farmer and had worked at the Shipshewana Flea
Market for a number of years. He was a member of the Old Order Amish
Church. Visitation will be after 1:00 pm on Thursday April 6, and all day Friday
April 7, at the family's residence, 4865 W. 300 N. Shipshewana. Funeral
services will be at 9:30 am on Saturday April 8, at the Alton Bontrager
residence, 2780 N. 500 W. Shipshewana.  Services will be conducted by
Bishop Jacob Jones and the home ministers. Burial will be in East Barren
Cemetery, Shipshewana. Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury, is
handling arrangements.
