December 18, 1929 -- June 13, 2019

Esther S. Mast, 89, of Middlebury, died peacefully surrounded by her family
at 4:30 pm on Thursday, June 13 at her residence. She was born on
December 18, 1929 in Goshen to Seth and Nancy (Miller) Troyer. On June
18, 1950 in Middlebury, she married Melvin I. Mast, he survives. Survivors in
addition to her husband is a son, Lester (Nancy) Mast of Sun City, AZ; two
daughters, Joan (Lavern) Beachy, Carolyn (Allen Jerome Neely, significant
other) Mast both of Middlebury; four grandchildren, Dustin (Kim) Mast,
Anthony Mast, Traci (John) Shupert, Sheri Beachy; two step grandchildren,
Troy (Erica) Weaver, Corey (Bobbi) Weaver; six great-grandchildren,
Connor, Parker and Cadence Mast, Kailee and Khloe Beachy, Joshua
Shupert; three step great-grandchildren; brother, Lloyd (Loretta) Troyer of
Middlebury; sister, Edna Hochstetler of Goshen; sister-in-law, Phyllis
Troyer of South Bend. She was preceded in death by her parents and
brother, Leroy Troyer. She was a secretary for D & M Construction for 37
years and a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Joy Mennonite Church
and Gideons International. Esther loved spending time with her family and
grandchildren, crocheting, quilting and gardening. She and Mel spent 13
years in mission work in Mississippi. She also loved to cook and was
known for her noodles. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Sunday,
June 16 and 3:00 - 7:00 pm on Monday, June 17 at Miller-Stewart Funeral
Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury. There will also be one hour of
visitation prior to the 10:00 am funeral service on Tuesday, June 18 at Mt.
Joy Mennonite Church, Goshen. Services will be conducted by Pastor Ben
Shirk and Pastor Nelson Yoder. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorials may be given to Gideons International and Mt. Joy Mennonite
