August 12, 1944 -- August 20, 2016

Esther J. Miller, 72, of Ligonier, died at 4:55 am on Saturday, August 20, at
her residence of an extended illness. She was born on August 12, 1944 in
LaGrange, to Jonas and Edna (Troyer) Weaver. On October 22, 1964 in
LaGrange County she married Howard Lee Miller; he survives. Survivors in
addition to her husband are three daughters, Katherine (Lavern) Fry of
Ligonier, Luella (Maynard) Hochstetler of Topeka, Pauline (David)
Herschberger of Howe; five sons, Dewayne (Nettie) Miller and Delmer
(Marlene) Miller both of Topeka, Dean (Wilma) Miller of Ligonier, David
(Marlene) Miller and Dale (Carol) Miller both of Topeka; 49 grandchildren, 13
great grandchildren; four sisters, Ella (Ervin) Yoder of LaGrange, Helen
(Ray) Hochstetler and Edna Bontrager both of Topeka, Lydia Bontrager of
Goshen; two brothers, Harry (Mary) Weaver of Topeka, Harley (Ella) Weaver
of Dalton, WI; sister-in-law, Mary Weaver of Shipshewana; two
brothers-in-law, Elva (Martha) Miller of Ligonier, David Wengard of
LaGrange.  She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Anna
Jacobs, Elsie Miller and Susie Wengard, brother, Calvin Weaver, three
brothers-in-law, Daniel Jacobs, Harvey Bontrager and Lester Bontrager.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Sunday August 21, and all day Monday,
August 22, at the Lavern Fry residence, 8070 N. 700 W., Ligonier. Funeral
services will be at 9:30 am on Tuesday, August 23, also at the Lavern Fry
residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Mark Kramer and the
home ministers. Burial will be in Hawpatch Cemetery, Topeka.
