Esther A. Bontrager
                                              May 12, 1918 -- June 15, 2018

Esther A. Bontrager, 100, of Goshen, died at 12:05 am, on Friday, June 15 at
Greencroft Health Care Center. She was born on May 12, 1918, in Kenmare,
ND, to Alpha and Alma (Nusbaum) Kauffman. On November 10, 1940 in  
Emma Mennonite Church she married Howard Greenawalt; he died
December 27, 1971. On December 19, 1979 in Emma Mennonite Church she
married Orvan Bontrager; he died December 10, 2004. Surviving are
daughter, Jane (Joe) Farrell of Goshen; son, Fred (Delores) Greenawalt of
Goshen; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two step
great-grandchildren; brother, Harold Kauffman of WI; stepson, Marion
Bontrager of Goshen; numerous step grandchildren and step
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both her husbands;
parents; six brothers, Chauncey, Andrew, Mark, Ezra, Menno, and Noah
Kauffman; two step daughters, Carolyn Albrecht and Mildred Wideman; two
step sons, Maynard and Devon Bontrager. She was a homemaker and a
member of Emma Mennonite Church, where she taught Sunday school for
many years. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and volunteering. Visitation will
be from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Monday, June 18 and one hour
prior to the 10:00 am funeral service on Tuesday, June 19 at Emma
Mennonite Church, 1900 South 600 West, Topeka. Services will be conducted
by Pastor Gene Hartman. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Topeka.
Memorials may be given to Mennonite Central Committee or Mennonite
Disaster Service.

To Jane and Fred, sorry to see this but based upon the life your mother lived
and her Christian examples we know she is singing praises to our Lord and
savior.  We shall meet again in Glory.
