Emma A. Hochstetler

Emma A. Hochstetler, 93, of LaGrange, died at 11:10 am, on Sunday, January
12 at her residence. She was born on May 9, 1920, in Plymouth, to Andrew L.
and Anna (Burkholder) Miller. On November 16, 1944, in Nappanee, she
married Harley J. Hochstetler. He died Oct. 21, 1996. Surviving are five
daughters - Mary (Wesley) Hochstetler and Mattie (Roy) Schrock both of
LaGrange, Sarah (Freeman) Schmucker and Fannie (Amos) Miller both of
Howe, and Ida Hochstetler of LaGrange; five sons - Levi (Katie) Hochstetler
and Andrew (Carrie) Hochstetler both of LaGrange, Eli (Elmina) Hochstetler of
Howe, Daniel (Elsie) Hochstetler of Goshen, Elmer (Wilma) Hochstetler of
LaGrange; a son-in-law- Harley (Edna Fern) Schrock of Howe; a
daughter-in-law- Edna Hochstetler of Wolcottville; 81 grandchildren, 217
great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter; two brothers - Jacob A.
Miller and Simon A. (Rosie) Miller both of Nappanee; two sisters - Anna A.
Miller and Sarah Miller both of Shipshewana; and a sister-in-law Mary (Marvin)
Otto of Kokomo. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents,
daughter- Susie Schrock, son- Jacob Hochstetler, three sisters- Katie Kemp,
Mary Lehman, and Mattie Weller, one brother- Ray Miller, and nine
great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order
Amish Church. Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Monday, January 13 and all
day Tuesday, January 14 at the Andrew Hochstetler residence, 2520 W. 350
North LaGrange. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Wednesday, January
15 at the Alvin Graber residence, 2775 N. 250 West LaGrange.  Services will
be conducted by Bishop Perry Whetstone and the home ministers. Burial will
be in Mast Cemetery, LaGrange. Arrangements will be handled by
Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury.
