Elroy Nisley, 57, of Ligonier, formerly of Goshen, died at 10:00 pm on
Wednesday, September 28, at his residence. He had been battling several
different health issues. He was born on August 20, 1959 in Goshen to Ora J.
and Ada (Graber) Nisley. On September 1, 1983 in Topeka he married Loretta
Yoder, she survives. Survivors in addition to his wife are a daughter, Marilyn
Nisley of Ligonier; four sons, Ervin Dean Nisley of Greenfield, Earl (Sadie)
Nisley of Millersburg, Lavon Nisley and Loren (Rhonda) Nisley both of
Goshen; three grandchildren, Kyle Dean Nisley, Krystal Jane Nisley, Lisa
Diann Nisley; seven brothers, Mervin (Linda) Nisley of Bristol, Larry
(Jennifer) Nisley of Evansville, LaVern (Kathy) Nisley of Goshen, Ora, Jr.
(Irene) Nisley of Topeka, Marlin (Elma Sue) Nisley of Millersburg, Marion
(Ruby) Nisley of Goshen, Vernon (Katie) Nisley of Ligonier; three sisters,
Elsie Fern (Samuel) Bontrager of Hillsboro, WI, LeAnna (Samuel) Bontrager
of Topeka, Miriam (LaVerne) Bontrager of Shipshewana. He was preceded in
death by his parents. Elroy was a farmer and had worked in area factories. He
was a member of the Old Order Amish Church in which he was ordained as a
minister on May 1, 1988. Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Thursday,
September 29, and all day Friday, September 30, at the Earl Nisley residence,
10591 North 1175 West-57 Millersburg. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on
Saturday, October 1, at the Jay Miller residence, 11688 North 1200 West
Ligonier. Services will be conducted by Bishop Levi Barkman and the home
ministers. Burial will be in Clinton Brick Cemetery, Goshen.
