Elmer J. Miller
                                          May 3, 1930 -- September 12, 2013

Elmer J. Miller, 83, of Shipshewana, died at 10:45 am on Thursday, September
12, at his residence. He was born on May 3, 1930 in Elkhart County, to Joseph J.
and Amanda (Hershberger) Miller. On December 15, 1955 he married Ida J.
Slabaugh, she survives. Survivors in addition to his wife are two daughters,
Nora (Sam) Brandenberger of Wolcottville, Etta (Amos) Glick of Shipshewana;
three sons, Harlan (Ruby) Miller of Shipshewana, Wayne Lee Miller of Niles, MI,
Vernon (Luanne) Miller of Shipshewana; 11 grandchildren, nine great
grandchildren; two brothers, Jake (Dorothy) Miller of White Pigeon, MI and
Samuel Miller of Sheridan, WY.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a son,
Kenneth, three sisters, Anna, Katie and Ida, two brothers, Jonas and Joseph. He
was a carpenter and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Visitation will be
after 2:00 pm on Friday September 13, and all day Saturday, September 14, at
the Amos Glick residence, 6985 W. 100 N., Shipshewana. Funeral services will
be at 9:30 am on Sunday September 15, at the Harley Bender residence, 7060
W. 100 N. Shipshewana. Services will be conducted by Bishop Gerald Troyer
and the Home Ministers. Burial will be in East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana.

Mr. Miller worked for (with) my dad, Sam Stafford, who lived above Bonneyville
Mill back in 69. We all LOVED Elmer! He helped dad gut and refurbish our whole
house! He was dad's right hand man!!! Sorry for your loss, but God's gain!
