Douglas Eugene Yoder
Douglas Eugene Yoder, 71, of Middlebury, died at 10:08 pm on
Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne after
an ongoing illness related to his military service in the Vietnam War.
He was born on April 25, 1943 in LaGrange to Benjamin and Violet
(Johnloz) Yoder.  On November 20, 2004 in Elkhart he married Choi
ThiTran, she survives. Survivors in addition to his wife are his
children from a previous marriage, a daughter, Shannon (Dave)
Hicks of Bristol; a son, Scott (Nancy) Yoder of Prospect, TN; five
grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; a sister, Stella JoAnn
Hughes of Sturgis, MI; a half-brother, Howard (Loretta) Yoder of
Middlebury; five step-sisters, Jean Watson of Shipshewana, Pat
Burkhead of Sturgis, MI, Joyce Gerber of Bronson, MI, Eleanor
Scott of NY, Margaret Dillon of NY; a step-brother, Donald McHugh
of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara
Ann Yoder; two brothers, Wayne Yoder and Jake Yoder. Doug had
worked in different area factories during of his life, including
Coachman in Middlebury and most recently for Gunite in Elkhart.
He was US Army Vietnam Veteran, served in the National Guard
and was a member of the Bristol American Legion Post 143. He
enjoyed fishing with his wife, children and grandchildren and was
an avid hunter. He also enjoyed traveling, square dancing and was
active with his children in 4-H in LaGrange County. Visitation will be
from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 11, at
Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 12, also
at the funeral home. Services will be conducted by Pastor Harold
Knight. Burial will be in Sidener Cemetery, Shipshewana with full
military rights. Memorials may be given to the funeral home to
assist the family with expenses.

I was graduated with Doug. He was a nice person.
