Daniel "Dan" Hochstetler
                                      July 22, 1937 ~ February 13, 2018

Daniel "Dan" D.  Hochstetler, 80, of Shipshewana, died at 6:36pm on
Tuesday, February 13, at his residence, his death was unexpected and
was due to natural causes. He was born on July 22, 1937 in LaGrange
County to Daniel and Anna (Wickey) Hochstetler. On January 22, 1977 in
Goshen he married Edna Christner, she survives. Survivors in addition
to his wife are a daughter, Deb (Dennis) Mast of Kimmell; a son, Danny
(Gloria) Hochstetler of Topeka; granddaughter, Alicia (Tyler) Clark;  
great-grandson, Jaxon Clark; two step-grandsons, Jake Mast and
Matthew Miller; two sisters, Mary (Ora) Miller of LaGrange and Edna
(Merle) Christner of Shipshewana; a brother, John (Katie) Hochstetler  
of LaGrange. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara
Yoder; two brothers, Ervin and Amos Hochstetler; grandson, Kyle
Bunten. Dan spent most of his life in LaGrange County. He spent many
years hauling milk and trucking. In 2011 he retired from Shipshewana
Pallet. He was a member of the Maple Grove Church, Topeka. He
enjoyed spending time around the campfire with his family and friends
and was a member of the Northeast Indiana Steam and Gas  
Association. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday, February
16, at Maple Grove Church, Topeka. There will also be one hour of
visitation prior to the 10:00 am funeral service on Saturday, February 17,
also at the church. Services will be conducted by Pastor Jason
Gingerich. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Topeka. Memorials
may be given to the church.

Thoughts and Prayers are with you Edna and family we will sure miss
Dan sitting on his favorite  porch swing ,and him going by our house in
his truck he always had a wave hello for us if you ever need us don't be
afraid to get ahold of us that's what neighbors are for.

Edna, we were so sorry to learn of Dan's passing. We will miss going by
your house and seeing his friendly wave as he sat on your porch on
those nice afternoons. He will be greatly missed by all. There is comfort
in knowing that he is now happy and rejoicing in the presence of his
loving Savior and Lord, Jesus.
