Dale Zook
Dale Zook, 88, of Middlebury, formerly of Lake Odessa, MI. passed away at
10:15 am on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his
family. He was born on May 10, 1927 in Clarksville, MI. to Dan and Edna
(Yoder) Zook. On August 1, 1948 in Clarksville, MI. he married Marzella
Kauffman, she survives. Survivors in addition to his wife are two sons, Daryl
(Maxine) Zook, Duane (Kathy) Zook; a daughter, Susan (Mark) Thomas all of
Middlebury; 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; a son-in-law, Lloyd
Weaver of Darby, MT; three sisters, Joan Muhling of Goshen, Marcella
(Lavern) Swartz of Lake Odessa, MI., Beulah Jantzi of Au Gres, MI.; two
brothers, Don (Irma) Zook of Burr Oak, MI., Fay (Juanita) Zook of Lake
Odessa, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Marilyn
Weaver; two sisters and two brothers. Dale was a farmer in Lake Odessa, MI.
for over 60 years until moving to Middlebury in 2014. He was a member of the
Bowne Mennonite Church in Alto, MI. where he served as a Sunday School
teacher and was a trustee for many years. He was passionate about the Lord
and loved talking about him and sharing his faith. His second love was
farming. In the last few years of his life he was surrounded by his family, who
became even more important to him. The grandchildren loved coming to visit
him, he will be missed. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday,
January 14, at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Funeral services will be
at 10:00 am on Friday, January 15, also at the church. Services will be
conducted by Pastor Harry Schrock and his grandson Durrel Weaver. Burial
will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorials may be given to
World Missionary Press.

Praying for your family this morning as you remember Uncle Dale. A memory
I have of Dale is that whenever we were there for a meal, before he prayed he
always told us that he was glad we were there and he always complimented
Marzella on the food!  Wishing we could be there today with the family.

Passing along my condolences to Dale's wife Marzella and daughter Susan, I
learned about Marilyn's passing a year ago but she had passed away before
then. I will share this with my sister Donna tomorrow.  Thoughts and prayers
for Marzella and Susan during this difficult time. Thanks for the wonderful
times of long ago in the  Northern Canada :) We will never forget your
