Chris J. Knepp
                                     April 12, 1925 -- October 28, 2015

Chris J. Knepp, 90, of LaGrange, died of natural causes at 12:30 pm on
Wednesday, October 28 at his residence. He was born on April 12, 1925 in
Hutchinson, KS, to John R. and Anna D. (Yoder) Knepp. He was married
November 7, 1946 in Topeka to Mary W. Lambright; she died February 11,
2004. On April 21, 2005 in Jamesport, MO he married Ella Ropp, she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are three daughters, Ada Mae (Wilbur) Fry of
Topeka, Anna Marie Eash of LaGrange, Edna Ellen (Stanley) Miller of Topeka;
six sons, John (Katie) Knepp of Topeka, William (Edith) Knepp of LaGrange,
Enos (Mary Anna) Knepp of Millersburg, Orva Knepp, Christy, Jr. (Irma)
Knepp, Melvin Knepp all of LaGrange; 31 grandchildren, 68
great-grandchildren, seven great great-grandchildren; three sisters, Cora
(John) Helmuth of Nappanee, Katie Schrock of Goshen, Clara Yoder of
Waukon, IA; two brothers, John (Elizabeth) Knepp of Shipshewana, Enos
(Ella) Knepp of LaGrange; a sister-in-law, Katie Knepp of Topeka; a
brother-in-law, Owen Farmwald of Monticello, KY. He was preceded in death
by his first wife; parents; a son-in-law, Daniel Eash; two great
granddaughters; three brothers, LeRoy, William and Daniel Knepp; two
sisters, Anna Mae Farmwald and Susan Yoder; two half-brothers, Fred Yoder
and Levi Knepp. Chris had worked as a farmer and carpenter and later in life
as a woodworker. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 29 and all day Friday,
October 30 at the Christy Knepp, Jr. residence, 1275 South 375 West
LaGrange. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Saturday, October 31 at the
same residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Richard Bontrager
and the home ministers. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, LaGrange.
