July 30, 1993 -- October 12, 2014

Bryce M. Smith, 21, of Middlebury, died at 2:57 pm on Sunday, October
12, at his residence.  He was born on July 30, 1993 in Goshen, to
Patricia Bontrager and Steven Smith. Survivors include his mother
Patricia Smith of Syracuse, his father of Edwardsburg, MI; a brother,
Nick Steve Smith of Elkhart; grandfathers, Gene Bontrager of
Middlebury, Joe Smith of Elkhart; grandmother, Lena Smith of Elkhart;
two uncles, Ted Bontrager and Todd Bontrager both of Middlebury. He
was preceded in death by his grandmother, Cathy Bontrager. Bryce
was a 2011 graduate of Northridge High School and was very
accomplished for his age, receiving his Associates Degree as a Diesel
mechanic from the University of Northwestern Ohio. He was working
as a diesel mechanic for Copper Coin Garage in White Pigeon, MI. He
was a member of Living Stones Christian Fellowship Church,
Middlebury, a 10 year member of the Elkhart County 4-H Beef Club, and
member of the American Short Horn Association. He enjoyed fishing
with his brother. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 pm on Wednesday
October 15, and for one hour prior to the 11:00 am funeral service on
Thursday October 16, all at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South
Main Street Middlebury. Memorials may be given to Elkhart County 4-H
Beef Club.

Patty, please know we are thinking of you and our hearts and prayers
