Andrew R. Miller, 87, of Shipshewana died of natural causes at 6:15
pm on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at his residence. He was born on
June 6, 1927 in Shipshewana to Urias E. and Rebecca (Yoder) Miller.
On February 28, 1957 in Middlebury he married Susanna Schmucker,
she survives. Survivors in addition to his wife are three daughters,
Ruby (Armando) Nira of Eaton, CO, Kathryn (Dennis) Bosch of
Holland, MI, Jean (Dave) Schwartzentruber of Stratford, Ontario,
Canada; four sons, Larry (Shelly) Miller of Topeka, Lowell (Rita) Miller,
LaVon (Gretchen) Miller, Les (Laurie) Miller all of Shipshewana; 20
grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; sister, Lizzie Ann Miller of
Shipshewana.. He was preceded in death by his parents; seven
brothers, Emery, Emanuel, John, Tobias, Levi, Amos, Urias Miller; an
infant brother; infant sister, Saloma Miller. He was involved in various
occupations including farming, hauling livestock, working in a trailer
factory and grocery store. He was a member of Forks Mennonite
Church where he served as an Elder, taught Sunday School, and
served on various church committees. He volunteered many years at
Menno-Hof, Shipshewana and for several mission trips with MDS;
Andy enjoyed woodworking and visiting people in the nursing home.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 4, and
2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, March 5, at Forks Mennonite
Church, 11435 W 25 S Middlebury. Funeral services will be at 10:00
am on Friday, March 6, at Forks Mennonite Church, Middlebury.
Services will be conducted by Pastors Phil Yoder and Eugene
Bontrager. Burial will be in Townline Cemetery, Shipshewana.
Memorials may be given to Menno-Hof, Shipshewana.
