Alvin J. Miller
                                       December 7, 1919 -- May 31, 2015

Alvin J. Miller, 95, of Millersburg, died at 10:43 pm, on Sunday, May 31, at his
residence. He had been in declining health the past year. He was born on December
7, 1919, in Middlebury, to Jacob D. and Lizzie (Lehman) Miller. On December 21, 1939
in Topeka, he married Polly Gingerich; she died June 22, 2008. Surviving are four
daughters, Esther Bontrager of Topeka, Marlene (Christie) Yoder of Millersburg, Lou
Ida (Elvon "Bill") Miller of Topeka, Betty (Vernon M.) Miller of Goshen; three sons,
Kenneth A. (Connie) Miller, Vernon A. (Marilyn) Miller and Mervin A. (LaVerda) Miller
all of Millersburg; 43 Grandchildren, 187 Great Grandchildren, 35 great-great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, four sisters, Sylvia
Weaver, Fannie Eash, Clara Bender and Goldie Miller, a brother, Monroe Miller, one
granddaughter, two great grandchildren and a son-in-law, John M. Bontrager. He
was a carpenter and a retired Deacon of the Old Order Amish Church. Visitation will
be after 2:00 pm Monday June 1 and all day Tuesday June 2, at the family residence,
10890 W. 600 S., Millersburg. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Wednesday
June 3, also at the family residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Harry W.
Miller and the home ministers. Burial will be in Hawpatch Cemetery, Topeka.
