Ada Mae Bontrager, 88, of Shipshewana, died at 6:20 pm, on Sunday,
January 7, at her daughter's residence in Goshen. She was born on June
28, 1929, in LaGrange County, to Levi J. and Mary (Mast) Eash. On
December 8, 1949 in LaGrange County she married Levi E. Bontrager; he
died October 12, 2016. Surviving are seven sons, Daniel (Anna) Bontrager
of Jamesport, MO, David (Cheri) Bontrager of Shelbyville, Samuel (Rhonda)
Bontrager of Hope, Ervin (Linda) Bontrager of Shipshewana, Melvin (Ann)
Bontrager of Shipshewana, Ray (Regina) Bontrager of Three Rivers, MI,
Earl (Angela) Bontrager of Columbus; five daughters, Esther (Lamar)
Hochstetler of Middlebury, Freda (David) Zehr of Goshen, Wilma (Galen)
Miller of Millersburg, Mary (Aden) Chupp of Nappanee, Irene (Vernon)
Schmucker of Shipshewana; 56 grandchildren, 96 great grandchildren; two
sisters, Esther Bontrager of LaGrange, Edna (Elmer) Lehman of
Shipshewana; two sisters-in-law, Amanda Eash of Bloomfield, IA, Anna
Marie Eash of LaGrange. She was preceded in death by her husband,
parents, stillborn son, Perry Bontrager, two great grandchildren, Taylor
Compton and Elijah Helmuth, two brothers, Ervin and Daniel Eash. She was
a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Visitation will
be after 12:00 noon on Tuesday January 9, and all day Wednesday January
10, at the family residence, 2135 S. 1200 W. Shipshewana. Funeral services
will be at 9:30 am on Thursday January 11, also at the family residence.
Services will be conducted by Bishop Karl Dean Miller and the home
ministers. Burial will be in Townline Cemetery, Shipshewana.
